The AGS BC Wills Archive
The AGS maintains indices of surnames from 62 volumes of official wills that were probated in British Columbia (1860s to 1940). The volumes were microfilmed and donated to our Resource Centre. The indices were compiled by Society members Patricia Confrey and Christine Lamb. Each index is arranged alphabetically by surname. Copies of 2,620 wills registered in British Columbia (1864 to 1939) by non-residents (strays) are kept by the AGS. Copied from the official records, these books were donated to our Resource Centre. The index was compiled by AGS members Pat Confrey, Faye Hicks, Pam Ripley and Deanna Smith. The stray wills are arranged alphabetically in a single database.
